Outstanding Athletes Will Get Bonus

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama will give bonus to athletes and clubs who managed to donate gold medal at National Sports Week (PON) XIX.

By doing so, it could produce the qualified athletes and sport equipment will not be budgeted by Sports and Youth Dept in future. But it will be handed over to the club through grants.

"No sport equipment purchase by dept in future," he expressed.

He assessed, clubs know the needs of sports equipment. Because of all this time, sport equipment is not suitable, sometimes procurement takes a long time. Whereas, the athletes really need to practice.

Meanwhile, during PON XIX in West Java, used as a training to face the 2018 Asian Games. Considering Jakarta as a host at the international event. It is expected the Indonesian national anthem could reverberate.

"Our target is 2018 Asian Games. I hope our athlete can give the best and Indonesian anthem can reverberate," he hoped.

Chairman of City National Sports Council (KONI), Raja Sapta Ervian urged the athletes to give the maximize performance on PON XIX. Thus they can maintain the overall winner that has been achieved in Riau during the previous event.

"Obviously, we will give the best," he stressed.

There are some sports that seeded in this year's competition, such as billiard, chess and bowling. Every athlete is expected to donate gold.
